(https://github.com/gleam-lang/otp), copyright the Gleam OTP contributors,
licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. The weft/internal/sys module
and src/weft_sys_ffi.erl derive their system-message handling from the same
package's gleam/otp/system module and gleam_otp_external.erl.
