# AgentEx

AgentEx is an Elixir and OTP framework for building, running, supervising,
coordinating, and persisting AI agents.

The project is at the initial library-skeleton stage. The product design is
captured in [`design.md`](design.md), and implementation will be added around
OTP-native agents, threads, tools, providers, workflows, and persistence.

## Installation

Add `agent_ex` to your dependencies in `mix.exs`:

```elixir
def deps do
  [
    {:agent_ex, "~> 0.0.1-alpha.0"}
  ]
end
```

## Usage

The public module is available today and provides the namespace for the
framework's incremental API:

```elixir
AgentEx
```

Agent definitions will eventually use the concise form described by the
design document:

```elixir
defmodule ResearchAgent do
  use AgentEx

  model "openai:gpt-5"
  system "You are a research assistant."
end
```
